Interested in Running for Mayor or City Council in 2026?

Candidate filings for one (1) Mayor and (3) City Council seats will open on Tuesday, July 14th and close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026.  To file for office, candidates must complete and submit a notarized Affidavit of Candidacy with the City Clerk's Office.  Please contact Christy Wilcox at 612-718-4828 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Special Election

There will be a special election on the ballot in November for Councilmember Bulach.  Councilmember Bulach resigned on April 14, 2026.  A special election will be held to fill the remainder of the term which will expire December 31, 2028.

Pre-Register to Vote

Not sure if you’re registered or want to pre-register? Check your voter registration status at MNvotes.org and learn what documents you will need to provide. Voters are strongly encouraged to pre-register to save themselves time on Election Day.
