4.   PUBLIC HEARINGPublic Hearing to Discuss Sign Ordinance Update:  Chair Hendrickson opened the public hearing that was tabled from the November 20, 2019 meeting relating to the proposed amendments to the Sign Ordinance.

Chair Hendrickson explained that City Council had decided to utilize the planning services of WSB and, therefore, Planner Grittman and his firm would no longer serve in the capacity of City Planner.  He stated that Peggy Sue Imihy was unable to attend the meeting this evening, however, she is working with Planner Grittman during the transitional period on items that are still pending.

Chair Hendrickson advised that the City Attorney and Council suggested continuing the items on this evening’s agenda to the February meeting. He explained that Attorney Kuntz send notification of the delay to the Pastors at each of the churches. He further explained that because this item was submitted by a petition rather than a formal application, the City is not obligated to act on the matter within the 60-day time-period.  He recommended that this item be continued to the February 19, 2020 Planning meeting.

Commissioner Beckett asked if the delay to February was due to the fact there were no applications for the January meeting.

Clerk Iago explained that Council suggested delaying the items to February to provide additional time for the new planner to review the information and include any new information.  She also noted there were no applications for review.

Commissioner Beckett moved to continue the public hearing to discuss the Sign Ordinance Update and table this matter to the February 19, 2020 Planning Commission meeting, seconded by Commissioner Nelson and carried. (4-0)
