Snowmobiles in the Parks

The City Forester noted that one or more snowmobiles had been driving throughout the north meadow of Musser Park near Salem Church Road. Most likely this snowmobiling activity was done by someone not familiar with City Park and Minnesota Land Trust rules.

Musser Park is owned by the City of Sunfish Lake and managed by the Minnesota Land Trust as a natural area, so motorized vehicles of any type are not allowed unless when used for planned maintenance projects.

This means cars, pickups, motorcycles, four-wheelers, or snowmobiles may not be used on the park’s lands. The park’s trails and meadows are only for walking type activities. Also, riding bicycles of any type is not allowed on the Musser Park trails.
